Arrival Ceremony for French President

 MELANIA TRUMP

President Donald Trump, and first lady, Melania Trump, welcomed French President, and his wife for a State Arrival Ceremony at the White House.  According to the White House, nearly 500 members of the military from five branches were on the South Lawn for a 'Review of the Troops' when the Macrons arrived. The State Visit comes after the US President and first lady visited France in July 2017 to attend the Bastille Day military parade in Paris, toured Napoleon's tomb, and enjoyed dinner in the Eiffel Tower. After the ceremony, the women went to the National Gallery of Art, escorted by Mary Morton, who has been curator and head of the department of French paintings at the National Gallery of Art since 2009. They were there specifically to see the new exhibition of Cézanne’s portraits at the museum. The exhibition opened on October 26,2017 and has 60 of Cézanne’s works.
