Launch Mini-Tour Aboard the Royal Train

Kensington Palace reports the Royal Couple wants to “pay tribute to the incredible work of individuals and organizations that have gone above and beyond in response to the coronavirus pandemic.” The Duke and Duchess started their mini-tour of the UK aboard the Royal Train, a trip announced last night via social media.The Royal Train Tour is a tradition started by Queen Victoria, who became the first monarch to travel by train in June 1842. Queen Elizabeth has made regular use of the current royal train, which was formed in 1977 for her Silver Jubilee. She invited the newly-married Duchess of Sussex to travel to Cheshire with her on it in 2018.  Over the next two days, they will visit nine locations in England, Scotland, and Wales.
