#Royal Train Tour 2020, 1st day

 DUCHESS CATHERINE
 OF
 CAMBRIDGE
During the 3 day tour, The Duke and Duchess will stop in Scotland, England and Wales to pay tribute to those who have kept the nation going during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Duke and Duchess arrived in Edinburgh, their first stop. The Royal Train Tour is a tradition started by Queen Victoria. Kensington Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess have become Joint Patrons of NHS Charities.  The 240 UK NHS charities provide extra funding and additional services above and beyond NHS core funds, supporting hospitals, community and mental health services and ambulances services. For their first engagement as Patrons, William and Kate met Scottish Ambulance Service paramedics and staff to thank them for their incredible efforts throughout the pandemic. The Royals' second visit of the day was to Berwick-Upon Tweed in Northumberland, where they met teachers and pupils at the Holy Trinity Church of England First School.
