The Submarine S-81 'Isaac Peral', is the first of four submarines of the S-80 series destined for the Spanish Navy, placing Spain in a relevant role within the countries capable of building and designing submarines. The ship resulting from this project is considered one of the most advanced conventional submarines (non-nuclear) in the world. It is, therefore, a clear commitment to national technological development, which will enhance the strategic independence of the country's defence and the international projection of the Spanish industrial fabric.
